Reduced Structure

Reduced Structure is an exploration of architecture in its most essential form. Through a restrained arrangement of layered geometric planes suspended within a vast field of negative space, Vivek Patel examines how simplicity can reveal the underlying logic of structure. Every line, plane, and proportion is carefully considered, allowing the composition to communicate through balance rather than complexity.

The compact architectural form suggests a fragment of a larger system—reduced to its fundamental elements without losing its visual strength. A solitary black square, positioned independently from the main composition, introduces a quiet tension that expands the spatial dialogue between presence and absence, weight and openness.

Executed in a monochromatic palette of black, charcoal, and soft grey against an ivory ground, the painting embraces restraint as a creative discipline. The generous negative space is not empty; it becomes an active element that amplifies the relationship between the geometric forms and the surrounding environment.
